Abyss Creations RealCock 2 Rockwell

This review has been such a long time coming that the product name has changed since we received it for review! Once again, I must apologise it has taken so long (aside from life getting in the way), this is a $500 dildo – I had to be absolutely sure before giving my final thoughts.

If you are a seasoned pro in the sex blogging sphere, you may already be familiar with Abyss Creations and their ‘RealDolls‘. These silicone sex dolls are some of the most realistic and intricate dolls on the market, and come with a pretty hefty price tag. A basic model can set you back around $6000 (£4975 at todays exchange rate). There has been a part of me that’s been curious to explore something like a RealDoll (they do have ‘male’ versions) but we are a long way off from that.

Fellow blogger Miss Ruby Reviews was lucky enough to be sent one of the original RealCock’s for review, and I have to confess, I was infatuated with it. As someone who enjoys a thoroughly realistic dildo, this once was ticking all of my boxes (and more). But would it prove to be… too realistic? There was only going to be one way to find out. When Abyss Creations reached out on twitter to find bloggers, I threw myself at them. And sure enough, back at the beginning of this year (yes, you read that right – again, I can only apologise), we were sent the RealCock DTF (or as it is now known; Rockwell). So would it be worth the wait? Worth the price tag? Well there was only going to be one way to find out…

I would like to thank Abyss Creations for sending us the RealCock 2 (Rockwell) to us free if charge in exchange for an honest review). Some affiliate links have been used in this post.

First Impressions

The RealCock 2 was delivered securely and discretely (as one would expect!). It was packaged in a simple cardboard box with some bubble wrap and a plastic bag to keep it safe. There is no branded packaging (at least, not with the version we were sent for review) but that honestly doesn’t bother me too much. Packaging is going to be thrown away. There was a little leaflet with some care instructions on how to look after your new toy.

When I took the RealCock 2 out of the box the first time, I think my exact words were “What the actual fuck?!”. It looks like a real cock (hence the name) and the texture is pretty… close as well. I wouldn’t say it feels completely realistic, but you know what? It’s probably the closest to any other dildo i’ve felt. The attention to detail is IMPECCABLE. I feel these must be life casts or something, but the colouring, the detailing, the texture… it’s all spot on. I was legit shocked. I was starting to see why these are priced as highly as they are.

The Rockwell (or DTF as it was known then) clocks in at around 6.5 inches of length, and has a circumference of 5.5 inches. This makes it almost a perfect representation of the ‘average’ cock. Maybe its a smidge bigger. In all honestly, it feels pretty similar to my husbands dick; so I already knew what I was getting into, and had an idea of what it was going to feel like. The RealCock 2 is made from silicone, and is crafted in a way that has multiple densities. It has a firm inner core, with a sila-slide outer skin (meaning as you ‘stroke’ the dildo, the skin moves and glides back and forth, almost like real skin). There are even 2 floating testicles that you can pinch and manipulate. It’s this level of detail that puts it far and above any other ‘realistic’ dildo i’ve ever used.

It also has a vac-u-lock base, so you can use this with any Vac-u-lock harness system, or any harness that has an O-Ring (as there is a wide enough base). I was so enamoured when it first arrived, I spent all afternoon just squeezing and stroking it. But the main thing we all want to know is how did it perform? Well let’s go and find out, shall we?

In Use

Once I’d gotten over flicking it, squishing it, stroking it, bending it… it was time to actually put it to the test. Thanks to it’s average size, I felt I didnt need to do too much of a warm up, and the Rockwell does have a nicely tapered tip, allowing for a relatively easy insertion. The shaft is quite wide and I would say is more ‘oval’ shaped than round. It’s little things like this that add to the realism. With a generous coating of lube (which honestly, not gonna lie, was a mildly arousing experience applying to the shaft), the Rockwell slipped in with almost no trouble. Initially, I couldn’t really feel any difference between this, and any other dildo. It feels nice, but I wasn’t really feeling anything differently.

As I started to relax, it started to feel more ‘realistic’. I was convinced I could almost feel the slight sliding of the skin as I rode it up and down. The tip is quite firm, so was massaging my prostate a treat. The shaft, despite being just 5.5 inches in circumference, feels thicker than it is. It really did feel like it was stretching me, and I definitely would not have been able to have taken anymore (for those that want a bigger challenge, then the Dirk model has an extra .5 inch girth and 2 inches of length. If you want something a little smaller, the Jones is around the same length as Rockwell, but with a 4.75 inch circumference).

The Vac-u-Lock hole adds additional dimensions to playtime; whether that’s using it with a suction cup for hands free fun (which I thoroughly recommend anyway, as where the hole is, that area of the shaft is quite flexible as it’s hollow; so without it the initial insertion can be a bit tricky in terms of getting the shaft aligned with your hole (I hope that makes sense!). I will hold my hands up and say I haven’t played around with a harness – I don’t have a vac-u-lock harness, but it does fit in my regular Lovehoney strap-on harness. Perhaps in the future, I will add on a little if we do get to play with it via strap-on, but I don’t feel this detracts too much from the review.

Generally, each experience with the Rockwell is pretty much the same. The ride is comfortable, it expertly massages my p-spot and delivers pretty much what I would expect from *any* dildo. And I guess that’s the reason why I am struggling a little bit to really recommend it. More on that in a bit.

Clean-up and Maintenance

Even though this is a 100% silicone dildo, because of it’s build, I feel I need to take EXTRA care when cleaning and storing the Rockwell. I’ve stuck to handwashing with lots of soap and water, and then storing inside the box it came in – I just want to be extra careful with this, especially as it’s so damn expensive.

Summary

So… this really has been a tough one. Because on the one hand, the RealCock 2 Rockwell is probably the most beautiful dildo I have ever seen. Visually, it’s the most realistic I own, and I am continuously blown away by the levels of detailing. From the little urethral slit in the tip, so the different shades of pink in the flesh, the veins… right down to pubic mound that feels like it’s picked up where the model was shaved before casting. The way the skin slides over the shaft to the floating testicles… it really is a work of art. And each RealCock 2 is finished by hand, so there will always be subtle differences between each RealCock made. And that, I think is lovely.

But it’s $499. If you want your RealCock in a custom colour (instead of the regular Fair, Light or Deep skin tones) then that will set you back another $1000 – that’s a LOT of money for a dildo, which I feel puts this out of reach of a lot of folx, and when the physical experience doesn’t differ too much from a dildo that’s even just a quarter of the price; I am struggling to recommend this to many people. I guess if you are after the ULTIMATE realistic dildo, and money is no object – Then absolutely, I don’t think you’re going to find better than the RealCock. It’s almost worthy of being on display. However, if you are more budget conscious, then a dual density Tantus or Vixen VixSkin will still provide you with an experience that’s almost as good as the real thing. I feel harsh for leaving this review so long and then not ending it with ‘OMG YOU MUST BUY’. That is a decision I am going to have to leave very firmly up to you.

Where to Buy

If you want to get your own RealCock 2, then you can get one from the RealDoll website, where the basic models will set you back $499 (plus shipping and customs if importing from outside the US – so bare that in mind!)
